Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Pakistan

Tourism is travelling to and slaying outside their usual environment. Pakistan is a country rich in resources, which increases tourism by exploring its beauty and nature. Regarding population, Pakistan is the 6th largest country in the world. 64% of the population, consist of youth. The beauty of Pakistan is determined by its cultural heritage and diversity, that becomes the basic reason for tourism. The roots of this culture are 5000 years old. Pakistan’s cultural heritage is so vast and colourful, it, makes this country, most
beautiful and amazing place for tourism. Tourism involves three essential elements, tourists, place and keen interest. Tourism has its own effects, socially and economically. Tourism creates jobs. Tourism also helps in promoting business. Tourism becomes the reason for getting knowledge. Tourism involves knowledge of places, people and their culture. Tourism plays an important role in the cultural heritage of Pakistan.

Most well-known heritage sites, that enhance tourism in Pakistan are;

·       Sacred Heart Cathedral
·       Gurdwara Shahid Ganj Singhania
·       Ram Mandi
·       Wazir Khan Mosque
·       Takht-i-bai
·       Ramkort Fort
·       Makli Necropolis
    


    Most touring sites that date back to 46000 years ago, were well developed urban centres, that increase tourism in Punjab. Their buildings and drainage system were so well-planned. A lot of art crafts in Harappa museum are reminiscent of that the period which is a source of increasing tourism in these areas.

  From Mohenjo Daro and Harappa are two well-known pieces of art.

· Gurdwara Guru Nanak Sahib and Kartarpur are also the pious and most visiting places which promotes tourism in Pakistan. Katas Raj Temple which is, also a Holy place for Hindus, is known as Qatas Qilla, also a tourist site.

   Seven Temples for Hindus and Sikhs are as follows which increase tourism are;


·       Kashmiri Hindu Temple
·       Shiva temple
·       Gurdwara Nankana sahib
·       Gurdwara darbar Sahib Kartarpur.


   
    It is built on the historic site where Guru Nanak settled and assembled the Sikh commune after his missionary travels, which empowers tourism. Gurdwara is located very close to India. 

    Buddhism initially started from this part of the subcontinent. A lot of art crafts related to the Buddhist period are displayed at Taxila Museum which increases tourism. Buddhist Temples are as follows
