Daal Chawal (Lentils Stew) Recipe

Boil rice                                            ½ kg
Split green gram                             1cup
Split red lentil                                  1cup
Red chili powder                             2tsp
Tomatoes                                        200gm
Salt                                                 1tsp
Turmeric                                         1tsp
Cumin                                             1tsp
Ginger garlic paste                        2tsp
Allspice                                        ½-1tsp
Ingredients to Temper (Tarka)


Red chilies                                    round 5-7
Chopped garlic                             cloves 5-6
Onion                                              1
Cumin                                            1tsp
Oil                                                   ½ cup
Coriander and Green chilies      as required

Preparation

Rice

In a cooking pot add rice, water, salt and cumin and boil it.

Daal(lentils)

In a bowl add split green gram, split red lentil, and keep them in water for 20 minutes. After this boil split green gram and split red lentil in water after that add red chili, salt, green chili, garlic, turmeric, cumin powder, and coriander and steam it for 20 minutes. After this add Tarka (Temper)

Tarka (Temper)

In a pan add oil and the given below ingredients and fry it until its color change to brownish.
1.     Onion
2.     Cumin
After this adds red chili, green chili, garlic, and coriander and cooks it for a while. your delicious Daal Chawal(Lentil Stew) is ready to serve.
